Nancy brings a diverse background of senior leadership roles as a successful entrepreneur, multi-national senior executive and industry leader. She is an institute-certified Board Director and has international experience in food and consumer goods. Her 35 years of experience working with small to large, public, private and multi-national companies has provided her with a strong track record of delivering superb operating results, developing talent and building a wide circle of influence within the corporate world and key stakeholders. She is a strong strategic thinker, clear communicator and skilled consensus builder. She excels at bringing senior executives together with different perspectives, to drive solutions.
Most recently, Nancy was President and CEO of Food & Consumer Products of Canada (FCPC), Canada’s largest association of food, beverage and CPG companies, where she held the post for 13 years. With her leadership, FCPC was able to save the industry hundreds of millions of dollars by creating supply chain and operational efficiencies for manufacturers through partnerships and industry protocols with retailers.
Prior to joining FCPC, Nancy spent 14 years with GCI and Grey Canada, a full-service PR and public affairs agency, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Grey Worldwide. She served as the General Manager of GCI and SVP of Grey Canada for 5 years prior to her role as the President of GCI Group Canada, which she held for 9 years.
Nancy presently sits on several boards, including the Ministerial Advisory Board (Federal Minister of Health) for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the Ontario Telemedicine Network. She is the Founder, President and Director of Desmoid Tumour Foundation of Canada and she serves as a Governor at the University of Guelph.
Nancy’s other notable achievements include being named Top 25 Women of Influence in Canada in October 2012; being profiled in the book “The NEW Woman Rules” by Fawn Germer, highlighting 50 senior Consumer Goods industry female executives from across North America; as well as being profiled in Grocery Business “The Industry’s Most Influential Women”: January/February 2013. Nancy also held many speaking engagements on industry issues and leadership.
Nancy holds an Honors Bachelor of Science from McGill University, and completed postgraduate studies at Harvard, Rotman and the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is married with two adult children and is passionate about food, cycling and long hikes with her dog.
