Our Expert Speakers – Passionate, Ispirational and Engaging

Our expert resource speakers play an important role in the success of our Eye of the Executive Leadership Series.  We encourage you to apply to become an expert speaker but warn you that these speakers are typically our members – well qualified and experienced in the various aspects of their businesses and industries. By talking through their own experiences in a well thought out presentation - they inspire fresh thinking, best practices, a perspective of what the future may hold, cutting-edge strategies and insights. These presentations are prepared well in advance specifically for our community of leaders – the advisors of PEO will spend a considerable amount of time with these speakers to ensure that the experience of the event was highly tangible and beneficial to those participating. At PEO we cannot afford to waste our leader’s time.

Our expert speakers will fall into 3 areas within the Eye of the Executive Leadership Series – they are as follows:

1) Through the Eyes of the Executive

PEO engages leaders who have informative, inspiring leadership stories to relate. These presentations showcase these individuals and the key leadership lessons they have learned during their careers. These sessions are what leadership is all about. They feature insightful stories about defining vision, dealing with major challenges and successes, reaching career-defining moments, and attaining the breakthrough thinking that leads to success.

Examples of lessons learned during these sessions include: how to continually challenge the corporate status quo to avoid complacency; how to recognize the symptoms of a problem and make the hard decisions needed to get to the root cause; how to ask the right questions to facilitate conversations that translate into ideas and action; how to use leadership to drive corporate change; and how integrity will triumph over adversity and skepticism.

Leaders in attendance at these events have been inspired by the ideas and concepts presented, and many have incorporated them in their own organizations.

2) Understanding Future Trends

One of the major responsibilities for any leader is to plan for the future.  PEO looks for topics we believe every leader needs to be considering now, in order to prepare for the future.  For example, in 2007 we invited the Chief Economist of Scotia Bank, Dr. Warren Jestin, to speak to our members and guests. He provided a timely economic forecast, and we hope to continue having Dr. Jestin present at our sessions. Other topics that have been included in this series include the globalization of the workforce and the future impact on your organization, talent retention and development a necessity to survival tomorrow, and innovating for the future of your organization.

3) Executive Tools and Best Practices

These sessions focus on essential tools for leaders, inviting professionals from a number of different backgrounds to speak about products and/or services that have created positive change within an organization. These individuals are well versed in their areas of expertise, and some of our past presenters have been best-selling authors in Canada and the U.S. Some of the topics at past sessions have included: Managing Executive Stress, Personal Wealth Management For Leaders, Talent Acquisition and Retention in a Tightening Marketplace, Tax Planning for the Senior Executive, Strategy Development and Execution, and Achieving Value Based Management.
