Johanne Bélanger, President of AVW-TELAV, and long time PEO member, has been elected as Chair of the Board for Tourism Toronto for the next two years. Tourism Toronto is the official destination-marketing organization for Toronto’s tourism industry.
Having joined AVW-TELAV in 2005, Bélanger is responsible for driving sustainable growth and market share through extensive customer service, sales and marketing initiatives for its rentals and staging business.
“It is truly an honour to be entrusted with the opportunity to serve and support the Tourism Toronto Board as Chairperson. Chairing this Board is, no doubt, an incredible opportunity for me to call attention to the innovative, state-of-the-art events technology this city can offer to international conferences and national conventions and symposiums,” said Bélanger. “But, even more importantly, the time is now to solidify Toronto’s position as a leading destination, renowned for its exotic cultural experiences, first-class accommodations, and all the unique qualities that bring this flavourful city to life.”
Tourism Toronto focuses on promoting and selling the greater Toronto region as a remarkable destination for tourists, convention delegates and business travelers. Officially operating as a not-for-profit agency, Tourism Toronto has over 1,000 members and is a partnership of public and private sectors. “At AVW-TELAV, we have a saying: ‘Working Together to make it Happen’,” added Bélanger. “It is with this ideal that we will approach the next phase of Tourism Toronto, as we propel our city to the forefront of the world stage.”
